The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is designed to be a versatile small crossover that hauls. It is loaded with technology to entertain and to keep you safe.
But did you know that the Eclipse Cross was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety?
The IIHS conducts extensive crash testing to see how well each vehicle stands up to both average and extreme collisions. They also look at driver assistance features to make sure they work properly in the case of an accident.
The IIHS tests for damage protection from small overlap impacts up front on both the driver and passenger side, a moderate overlap impact up front, side impact, the strength of the roof in a rollover, and to check the solidity of head restraints and the seats themselves from a collision.
The result is a top score of Good in all of the above tests for the Eclipse Cross. The IIHS also gave good marks on the ease of use of LATCH anchors for child seats and a high mark on the driver assistance features on the Eclipse Cross.
In keeping you safe, the Eclipse Cross SEL is equipped with LED headlights, Blind Spot Warning (BSW) with Lane Change Assist (LCA) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). Eclipse Cross SEL Touring models also offer additional safety equipment including Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Automatic High Beams.
The Eclipse Cross joins the Mitsubishi Outlander as 2019 Top Safety Pick winners from IIHS.
